Our Track Record & Methodology
This page explains how we measure our track record, in plain language, so you can see exactly what our numbers mean and how we calculate them.
Our contrarian income recommendations have averaged 9.4% annualized total returns since inception in August 2015, with most gains paid as dividends.
What the Number Means
That 9.4% is a total return figure with dividends reinvested. Without reinvestment, it is 8.47%. Both include price changes and the dividends our recommendations have paid along the way.
It is an average across all of our recommendations since we began tracking in August 2015. It is not the return of any single portfolio, not an internal rate of return, and not a figure any individual investor is guaranteed to have earned. Your own result would depend on which recommendations you acted on, when you bought, and whether you sold.
Why the Number Moves
Open positions are marked to their current price. That makes the figure a point-in-time snapshot that moves with the market: when the holdings rise, the average rises, and when they fall, it falls. We do not freeze the number at a favorable moment and leave it there, which is why the date below matters.
How Often We Check It
We review this figure every quarter and verify the current numbers each time rather than carrying an old figure forward.
As of Q3 2026. Figures reflect open positions marked to current price and are reviewed quarterly.
Last verified: August 5, 2026, reviewed quarterly.
